[Anchor Lead] A project is underway to disseminate Korea's advanced farming techniques to developing nations. This effort has been especially fruitful in Uzbekistan, planting the seeds of a so-called agricultural Korean Wave in the Central Asian region. [Pkg] This is a rural village in Uzbekistan. Livestock farmers here are learning how to raise their cattle using cattle feed. [Soundbite] Asst. Director, Uzbek Livestock Research Center : "It was confirmed that the cattle raised the Korean way were 50 to 60 kilograms heavier than the ones raised in the local style. Once this system is introduced, the economic efficiency will go up by 10% to 15%." Uzbekistan used to import all of its seed potatoes from the Netherlands. But now 5% of the supply have been replaced with Korean ones, following the introduction of Korean technology. [Soundbite] Director, Uzbek Agricultural Research Center : "Our researchers grew 4 hectares of seed potatoes at the seed potato cultivation facility for two years. We plan to harvest 80 tons of this variety in the fall." Korean farming techniques are helping Uzbekistan overcome chronic vegetable shortages in winter. Double-layered greenhouses where crops can be grown without heating have been built and the techniques to produce high quality cabbages, radishes, strawberries and tomatoes are taught to local farmers. [Soundbite] Ahn Hee-seong(Rural Development Administration) : "We will step up the effort to boost the income of ethnic Korean farmers in Uzbekistan." Korea's advanced farming techniques are nurturing the saplings of "agricultural Hallyu" in Uzbekistan.

People of the world if you really want to buy organic please come here to hanoi the capital of Vietnam. Customers and farmers visit market by foot and bicycle. The life is pure and valued in these truest organic markets. There less and less of these organic markets even in hanoi since the western shopping malls and packaged food and fast food is on the rise and market life is seen as poor and primitive in the eyes of locals. It is a sad and extremely painful to see how the wester. Foods are been adapted as daily part of the Vietnamese life.

Watch the next episode about San Francisco becoming a zero waste city: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cg3OA1s8-SI&list=UUJsSEDFFnMFvW9JWU6XUn0Q As urban populations continue to rise, innovators are looking beyond traditional farming as a way to feed everyone while having less impact on our land and water resources. Vertical farming is one solution that's been implemented around the world. Vertical farms produce crops in stacked layers, often in controlled environments such as those built by AeroFarms in Newark, New Jersey. AeroFarms grows a variety of leafy salad greens using a process called "aeroponics," which relies on air and mist. AeroFarms' crops are grown entirely indoors using a reusable cloth medium made from recycled plastics. In the absence of sun exposure, the company uses LED lights that expose plants to only certain types of spectrum. AeroFarms claims it uses 95% less water than a traditional farm thanks to its specially designed root misting system. And it is now building out a new 70,000 square foot facility in a former steel mill. Once completed, it's expected to grow 2 million pounds of greens per year, making it the largest indoor vertical farm in the world.
